Stitched: People and Places in Photography, Collage, and Stitch

Coming up next at the gallery is Stitched: People and Places in Photography, Collage, and Stitch from multi media artist Barbara Daley. Barbara has had her work displayed at Peace Gallery North for many years, and many will recognize her from her involvement with the Flying Colours Artists’ Association. She will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this exhibit to the Canada Ukraine Foundation.

“Since I could pick up a crayon, or a little later, a needle and thread, my greatest passion in life has been experiencing the world with curiosity, and honouring what I see by creative expression. I am a life long journal keeper, and mixed media artist, with a particular attraction to textile and hand stitch, for which I am grateful to my mother, Jane, who is still thriving at 100 years of age. I have had the privilege of living in the beautiful North Peace for 45 years. A very rich chapter in my life was attending the Visual Arts program with Mr Laine Dahlen, there making kindred friends, and so enhancing my ability “to see”. I thank Peace Gallery North, and Flying Colours Artist’s Association for enriching my life beyond measure.”

The opening reception for her exhibit will be on August 1 at 7:30pm, with the exhibit being on display from August 1- August 30.
