Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

Join the North Peace Cultural Centre in their annual Gingerbread Decorating Competition!
  • Participants may enter under one of the following age categories
    • Family 12 and under/ Group: Groups must be made of three people or more, this can be a group of friends, coworkers, or a family with children under the age of 12
    • 13-18: any individual between the ages of 13 and 18 at the time of the contest
    • Adults (19+): any individual 19 or older at the time of the contest
    • Seniors (55+): any individual 55 or older at the time of the contest
  • Limited one (1) entry per category
  • No entry fee, but registration is required
  • Points are awarded based on originality, technical difficulty, use of colour, aroma, and theme
  • This year’s theme is: Circus
  • The entire gingerbread “house” must be built of edible materials. Other non-edible structures can be added.
  • Entries need to be on a base no bigger than 20 x 18’’
  • Entries must be dropped off no later than 4:30pm on Friday, December 1st
  • Gingerbread houses will be on display from Saturday, December 2nd – Saturday, December 9th
  • Panel judging (“Judges Prize”) will commence on the afternoon of Saturday, December 2nd
  • The community will be able to vote on their favourites (“People’s Choice”) in person and online from 10:00am on Saturday, December 2nd – 4:30pm on Thursday, December 7th
  • “People’s Choice” ballots can be dropped off at the box office or at the gallery
  • Winners of the “Judges Prize” will be announced on Monday, December 4th
  • Winners of the “People’s Choice” will be announced on Friday, December 8th
  • Entries must be picked up before 5:00 on Saturday, December 9th or they will be disposed of

Any prizes won will be held at the NPCC box office until the winners are able to pick them up
