Last Friday marked another successful opening reception at Peace Gallery North with Seasons Of The Peace from the Fort St. John Country Quilters. The theme for this year’s exhibit (and title of the show) was of course inspired by our beautiful Peace River Region. Guild members that wished to submit quilts were asked to make a quilted display relating to the seasons in the Peace River area. Come in anytime during the gallery’s open hours to experience how a variety of quilters interpreted this year’s theme. Every year the FSJ Country Quilters Guild put on a quilt raffle to raise money for their non-profit efforts. To give back to the community, the Quilters Guild donates over a hundreds quilts a year to local community shelters, the dialysis and cancer treatment centres, hospice, and The Teddy Bear Program. Three large quilts will be given away as a part of this year’s raffle. Proceeds from the raffle go towards purchasing supplies for their work. Tickets can be bought through guild members, and at Peace Gallery North for the duration of this show. Seasons Of The Peace is on display until August 1, and free to view during the gallery’s open hours of Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm
