Nov 25 – Zentangle® Workshop
Zentangle® Workshop, Deb Bowyer
Saturday, Nov 25 1pm-4pm
$63, supplies included
Introduction to the Zentangle® Method class is an approximately three-hour class (all materials included) where we will talk about the history of Zentangle®, discuss the elements of a tile, play with a few tangle patterns, shade a bit and then appreciate our art. There are no mistakes in Zentangle® art. The Zentangle® method can be used to conquer your stress and relax your mind. It has been described as yoga for the brain: we aim to demonstrate the tangle patterns and techniques in a supportive, encouraging and caring environment. Everyone will end up with a different piece of art based on their unique spin on the tangle patterns. We will display them in a mosaic format so that we can appreciate them as a group.
Artist Bio: I have never had any formal training, outside of the local classes that I’ve attended over the years, and I don’t have an “art degree” by any means, but I have always appreciated art and the beauty and diversity of it. I have dabbled over the years in many different mediums but most recently discovered the Zentangle® method and Encaustic art. They are so different in technique but also very similar. Both are meant to be abstract. I kind of like that as I’m a bit of a “perfectionist” and with these art forms I don’t have to be. It’s a bit liberating to say the least. A Certified Zentangle® Teacher, I have been trained by Rick and Maria to guide students in the mindful, meditative practice of the Zentangle® method.
