Day 1: After a brief introduction, we will practice some essential pastel techniques and apply these to the development of a painting.  Working from a photo we will cover the step-by-step process of developing a moonlit landscape from thumbnail sketch to completed piece.

Day 2:  Participants are invited to bring their own reference photos of evening, early morning or night landscapes.  Sunrise or sunset scenes are good.  We will build on techniques and discoveries from Day 1.  Both days include demos and individual tutoring.  *If you have no experience working with pastels on black paper, Day 1 is required to attend Day 2.

All levels of experience are welcome!
